There’s something about Costa Rica that inspires magic, play, and adventure. Uvita is part of the Osa peninsula, more specifically on the Costa Ballena (Whale coast), and home to the famous “Whale’s Tale” National Park.  Fun Fact: this also the best place to see the whales as they migrate seasonal (Late July - Early November).

The Osa peninsula is one of the most biodiverse places on the planet, and it’s super easy to immersive yourself fully into your natural surroundings. Uvita is a short boat ride away (dolphin sightings almost guaranteed) from Isla de Caño, a protected island with some of the best diving/snorkeling in the world.

Selva Armonia prides themselves in serving healthy, locally sourced meals that nourish guests, satisfy the senses, and maintain alignment with Selva’s permaculture practices. Selva Armonia is located about 20 minutes from Uvita-town, with a hill-top view of the famous Whale’s Tale, facing the west with a fabulous sunset perch.  We’ve got the whole property to OURSELVES which contains 15 unique rooms, a saltwater pool, hot tub, and an open-air practice space that offers expansive ocean-views.

A five-bedroom home with 2 living spaces, 2 shared  bathrooms, and ocean-view dining area.  

​Each room can house 1-2 guests, with 1 queen and 1 twin bed. This is considered the heart of the resort and features all natural construction, ocean views, overhead fans, and in-room refrigerators.

​Perfect for the traveler on a budget, who doesn't mind sharing some space with new, soon to be familiar, friends.

PRIVATE CABINAS

The Cabinas offer an intimate getaway space surrounded by jungle canopy and permaculture gardens. Their design is inspired by the region's traditional architecture, including hand-carved details and locally sourced materials.

Each Cabina is equipped with AC, one queen bed, private outdoor shower, and a private garden view balcony. Ideal for the single traveler, or 2 folks who don't mind sharing a bed, who would enjoy a little more privacy.

Each suite has been designed and decorated to reflect the perfect balance of sustainability and luxury. Enjoy stunning views of the Pacific Ocean and the lush Costa Rican mountains.

Nestled at the top of the property, the two-story Deluxe Bali Villas offer a secluded haven for your next adventure in Paradise. Enjoy the gentle sounds of nature from your private terrace while you gaze across the lush tropical jungles leading to the Pacific Ocean.

 The top floor of the villa is equipped with AC, one king bed,  a private bathtub and outdoor shower, and a private ocean-view balcony.

    No trip to Uvita is complete without a visit to the "whale's tail" during low tide where we will walk along the sand bar to the edge of the world (or at least it feels that way)

    Meet Rey

    Rey Culler (they/them) is a registered yoga teacher with the Yoga Alliance and has completed over 500 hours of training, including multiple trauma-informed certifications.

    With over 9 years of experience, they blend somatic practices, meditation, and sound healing to create inclusive classes that invite you to reconnect with your body, calm your mind, and cultivate a deeper sense of presence.​

    Whether you’re new to yoga or returning to your mat, Rey’s classes offer a safe, welcoming space to reconnect and reset.

    Meet Grace

    Grace Millsap (she/they) is currently located in Charlotte, NC (Catawba Land). Her passions are rooted in science and equality, which inform her teaching of Yoga, and how she shows up in the world.

    Grace studies, and teaches, from a long lineage that believes that life is inherently beautiful, and that the path of Yoga is a tool set to better navigate the many twists and turns.

    ​Grace is a 500 ERYT, a YACEP provider, and an Ayurveda Wellness Counselor. Her classes, whether restorative or flow, are infused with her passions, and quest for magic and joy.

FAQ

  • Fly into San Jose, Costa Rica (SJO - make sure it’s not the airport in California!). If you are coming from Charlotte, American Airlines offers daily direct flight, JetBlue will most likely take you through Florida and Delta usually stops over in Atlanta. You will need to arrive by 1pm - it’s a 4 hours drive down the Pacific coast to arrive in Uvita, with a stop to see the crocodiles (from a safe distance) at the Tarcoles Bridge.

  • Grace Millsap Yoga & Ayurveda, LLC (GMYA) is a small business with a big heart. This cancellation policy helps to cover our large financial investment with our local partners, which are non-refundable upon securing dates for retreats. 

    If you cancel in writing 90 days or more before travel:  GMYA will hold the full amount paid on your behalf and reserve it as a credit for your use towards a future retreat within 24 months of your originally scheduled retreat dates. 

    If you cancel in writing 45 - 89 days before travel: GMYA will allow you to apply 50% of the total retreat cost to a future retreat within 24 months your originally scheduled retreat dates, however all other payments made will be lost.

    ​Any cancellation less than 45 days ahead of the start of the retreat will lose ALL value paid.
